Daughter

Daughter, younger self, inner child...
Do you remember how brightly you shone,
When you were new to this world?
Do you remember the melody in your heart,
That only you can sing?
Do you know which notes are uniquely yours?

Do you remember your soul and purpose,
Under all the layers and others' truths?
Do you know how much beauty you hold,
And how it shines through your eyes?
Do you know how strong you are,
With an indelible spark lighting your way?

Do you hear your inner guidance,
Bringing you clarity, peace, and safety?
Do you remember what it feels like to be whole,
Smoothing out any perceived rough edges?
Do you hear your soul whisper to you,
Calling you back to yourself?

Do you feel the love radiating from your being,
As your heart opens ever wider?
Do you know how much you bring to the world,
With your passion, purpose, and unconditional love?
Do you see the goodness flowing to and from you,
Filling up your cup and soothing your pain?

Do you remember how worthy you are to receive,
And what radiant gifts await you?
Do you feel how deeply you are loved,
As you continually grow and change?
Do you see how precious and valued you are,
And your belief in yourself grows?

Do you know the answers are within?
Encoded in your beautiful soul?
Do you remember that you choose to be here,
To bring your light into this world?
Do you see what a blessing your are,
Each and every day?

Learning to Self-sooth - Part 2

As I discussed in Learning to Self-sooth – Part 1 , self-soothing is calming and centering ourselves; having tools to help us find our body/mind/heart/spirit connection; and coaching ourselves through whatever is coming our way so that we are then able to make wiser and more confident decisions that will have better outcomes. In Part 1, I also talked about an example of driving/running late, the negative thought spiral that we can begin to go down, and how a major step along my path to learning to self-sooth was discovering my breath and remembering to breathe when I thought life was throwing me a curve ball.
